The basic exhibition at the Rauma Museum
Two rooms in the lower floor of the Old Town Hall are at present
devoted to the exhibition of lace. There are hundreds of lace
samples on display, some on the walls, some in drawers. There
are also several lace trimmed caps on show as well as lace pillows
and other accessories.
Lace making techniques
The Rauma bobbin laces are made with continuous threads. Ribbon
laces or peach laces have not been made traditionally. The lace
laces for bonnets were sold as ready peaches, but the technically
the laces were made with continuous threads.
